Privacy Policy

This policy covers this website, dropletaudio.com, which today exists to collect email addresses for the Droplet waitlist. It is written and maintained by Droplet Audio, referred to below as we or us. You can reach us at contact@dropletaudio.com.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist, we collect:

• Your email address, because you typed it into the form.
• The country you were in when you signed up, at country level only. Our hosting provider works this out from your IP address. We keep the country code, for example US or DE, so that we can plan where to make Droplet available. We do not store your IP address alongside your email, and we do not collect a more precise location than the country.
• The fact that the signup came from this website, so we know how you found us.
• Whether you confirmed your email address, because we ask you to click a link in a confirmation email before you join the list.

What we do with it

When you submit the form we send you one email asking you to confirm the address. Until you click the link in it, we do not email you anything else. If you decline, we stop there.

We use your email address to tell you about Droplet: launch news, early access, waitlist pricing, and feedback opportunities. That is the whole purpose. We do not sell your email address, we do not rent it, and we do not pass it to advertisers. Every email we send includes a link to unsubscribe, and unsubscribing stops the emails immediately. You can also email us if you want your email removed from our records.

Who else touches your data

We keep the list of companies involved as short as we can:

• Loops (loops.so) stores the waitlist and sends our email. Your address and country are held in their system on our behalf.
• Cloudflare hosts this website and runs the small piece of code that receives the form. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical details of your request, including your IP address, in order to serve pages and block abuse.

Both companies are based in the United States, so if you are writing to us from elsewhere, your email address is stored there.

Analytics, and the cookies we do not set

For page view counts we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies and does not build a profile of you. This website sets no advertising cookies, no tracking cookies, and uses no other analytics. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until the waitlist has served its purpose and we close it down. If you never confirm, your address stays on our list marked unconfirmed, and we do not email you.

Your choices

Write to contact@dropletaudio.com and we will show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Depending on where you live you may have a formal right to these things, and we intend to honor such a request wherever it comes from rather than checking whether we are strictly obliged to.

Children

This website is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect email addresses from anyone under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, tell you by email.
